You've got a lot going on and a lot to deal with. You don't want to be labelled, yet sometimes you wonder if you could stick a label on how you're feeling, maybe that would help it make a little more sense.

 

You won't be labelled here - because you are more than a label and even if you found one that "fit" you are worth so much more than any label alone could do justice to.

To put it simply, life can suck sometimes.

 

It can.

 

I tell my clients all the time that middle school & high school aren’t easy in the age of social media & I honestly don’t know how you all do it!

 

I won’t sit here & pretend to know what your life at school or at home is like. Only you know that. What I can do, is listen to you unconditionally. Without pretending to be another adult trying to be cool or telling you what to do or how to feel.

There are so many things going on!

School, friends, emotional turmoil, your fandoms, the climate, politics, work, the future, adults who think they know you more than you know you. 

Then there's feeling like you don't quite fit in. Like there should be a book of instructions that you seem to be missing out on.

Finding a therapist can be overwhelming. 

Here's what it's like working with me:

We'll work in a variety of ways to help you make sense of your emotions, feelings and thoughts. We'll work together as you identify your goals and how you would like to feel better about how things are going. 

I'm not a "worksheets therapist" I won't be handing you stacks of forms to fill out. I also won't sit passively in session, nodding my head at everything you say. When you're battling your way through real problems, you need a therapist who is engaged, involved and invested in you. I will be your guide and ally as we travel together through the process of change and healing. 

Sometimes, that looks like talking things through. Sometimes, that looks like using the right side of our brains to process and express things through play, art, writing or sand tray. Sometimes we'll do one thing and sometimes a combination of things.
